The Catalina first turned on it's wood oven Jan 2015 in Hell's Kitchen. Since then, veteran restaurater, Nicholas Spanos has been raising the heat with both quality interpretations of classic Mediterranean tapas, pizzas and daring reinventions of the classic American burger.
Inspired by his childhood summer memories in the Greek isles where his Greek father and all American mother cooked harmoniously using nothing but local fresh ingredients . What particularly stood out was his mom's burgers made with the local Greek herbs and fresh baked bread and his dad's pizza that romantically were made of the same dough and fired side by side in the town's wood oven. These flavors left a lingering taste that would not soon be forgotten.
It's this passion and love you will taste with each bite, each slice, each dip, fused together in Catalina's artisan wood burning oven that will make you a understand why this taste just had to be recreated and shared for the rest of the world to enjoy..
